Digitalis parviflora - Chocolate Soldier Foxglove

From the mountains of Northern Spain hails this very hardy, perennial foxglove. Slender spikes hold numerous densely massed chocolate brown tubular flowers in early Summer. A distinctive, striking and lovely perennial plant and reasonably drought tolerant Like all foxgloves, this is toxic if ingested.
