Phalaris arundinacea picta

This grass has a reputation for loving water, but it is very drought hardy too. The plant forms a nice clump to 60cm tall and brings a real highlight to the garden. In really dry times, the leaves are prone to scorching, but this is reduced in semi shaded areas. If treated too well it can spread, but the unwanted bits can be removed.
