Liatris spicata - Kobold Blazing Star

This is a more compact form of this versatile North American prairie plant. They are a spectacular addition to any flower bed and suitable for pots. They make a wonderful display in Summer when the dense spikes of pink flowers shoot skyward from the bright green grass like leaves. They also make an excellent cut flower. Requires a bit of water in summer but need a well drained soil.
